Here’s a recap of the recent event held in at Parahyangan Catholic University, Bandung. PEONFX together with friends, UNKL347,  Sup Clothing and KGB were present for CAS’s  screening of TOS that were in the event line up there. The screening ended with mad applauses which later the local riders took on the floor with some trick sessions for all. We made new friends from Heroes Customs and This is Lets Ride, both with a common passion for pedal power.

The “iCycle” project is a collaborative effort between Sup Clothing, fixed gear collective Crank Arm Steady and local Performance Cycling Syndicate Getset.

Originally concieved during Crank Arm Steady’s 120km Tour of Singapore in 2009, the “iCycle” project highlights dire need for road equality for cyclists of all shapes and form. 

PEONFX took this opportunity to be one of the partners for this event to promote and raise awareness of cycling as a full fledged legitimate sport and mode of transport on the streets of Singapore.

The Cycling Hat will be launched on that day as well, only available for Pre-Order.

The ‘Longhouse’ tee by Yasin Rahim for Getset speaks roadie from the heart, the coffee and hawker stall along Upper Thompson Road having been the epicentre for roadies, pro and amatuer cycling teams for more than a decade.

The ‘Fixie’ tee by Yasin Rahim for Sup Clothing documents a small segment of the CAS ‘Tour of Singapore’, a 120km round island fixed gear ride that took place in late 2009 by the Crank Arm Steady crew.

During this event, the premiere the film of Crank Arm Steady’s Tour of Singapore, as well as featuring exclusive prints of Singapore’s cycling scenes.

We have to cover 120km riding through the coastal roads around the island. It aint easy but i have to say that it is worth it. We started out with a total of 53 riders and we ended with a few short.

Riding anticlockwise around the island, we started off at clarke quay’s BK Bar where we had a meal from one of our sponsors.. Burger King. It was 4.30pm when a mass of fixed gear riders rode off proceeding to TR bike before we hit Changi coastal. The weather was in our favour that day, not the usual rainy december afternoon. It was nice and hot… and windy at the same time.

We made good time for TOS. clocking abt 10hours to complete the ride. The usual friday rides would sum up to about only 40km generally. It was a good route. It was nicely laid out. It was cleverly selected. It was an awesome ride!!

When we have great company along our journey.. distance didnt matter in the end.  To those KL Riders, was a pleasure to have u guys coming all the way down here for the ride.  T.O.S is definitely a good way for likeminded people to share anything under the sun and built new experiences together.

Thanks to all those boys who rode that night…. we’ll have more  rides together in the future, for sure. And big up to CAS and SUP for organizing it and giving the opportunity for PEONFX to be a part of it. High fives to those crew behind the wheels with the food and medical supplies.. and to those behind the camera too,  for catering to each and everyone of us. Lets do this again!!

I concluded … there will be more track frame to be available in HongKong in the future. Hell Yeah!

The EASY frame build like the Bruiser.. tough and slightly lighter then the TOUGH frame which is also produced by OZOTW. Using 28c fyxation would be a good choice but i would not go any thicker tires. There was a little problems trying to install the rear wheel… due to the thickness of tyre. So there are a couple of configuration between gear ratio and tyre thickness to make the rear wheel sit well by not touching the frame. Now  it is currently using 17-46 ratio and 28c for fit. But the distance between wheels and the frame aren’t that good.. soon will try 19-46 or 17-44. Richard has a liking for wheels to be close to the vertical tube. Those 43mm rims are sick.. Ok why do i need Velocity then.!? Ok.. it could be a notch heavier..but if I’m going for speed and light weight.. i would not even go for B43.

There is easy clearance for bar-spin and the bike pops up pretty easy too. Not much of Tricky Wolfy.. but sure let others eat his dust most of the time.. Soon will try the Tough frame .. BIG BIG ups to A-MIN the man behind OZOTW

Everything is all set-up except for the wheels and waiting patiently for Acit to bring it here for me in Macau.Still considering the black Nitto drop bar or the urban bar but as for now i have the pursuit bar on it first before deciding which one is to my comfy.

Campagnolo Record Pista 47t with its English thread BB. Finally my Dura-ace hub is out of the box and lace it up with H+Son Rims. SAG double toe-strap with detachable wellgo paddle which i got it here.

After rounding up all components here and with those wheels that i finally got ..i decided to change the handlebar and have it set-up to the most comfortable i can be.With a gear ratio of 47t/16t & 18t ,  i’m very much comfortable with it on the roads here.

Unkl Dendy of UNKL347 showed us his latest artwork that was featured in Bazaar magazine for August issue this year.  Selected artists were involved to portray the lifestyle of living in a concrete jungle… battling the rat-race and having no time to do what we want or get close to nature. Inspired by the busy streets which surrounds him, he emphasized on the lack of simplicity in today’s everyday life. Cycling in a park is not as relaxing with the current hectic living.  This artwork was exhibited at the Hilton Bandung not long ago.

Dendy now commutes to work with his Ricycle, Singapore made vintage city cruiser.

glad that u guys are still supporting the bike polo event that we organise even without my presence and also Sabri. Big thanks to Daniel Place of EatSh!T for his contribution to this event. I am sure u guys getting better with the sports by the time i see u all again in Singapore.

i’m be selling those sticks at half price, would appreciate if u guys could get one since its pretty hard for Jjay to get the things down at the venue on her own.and i won’t be around to do maintenance and repairs of sticks but once its your.. its yr responsibility to maintain it, pimp it or whatever with it… as for the cones, it shouldnt be of any issues for Jjay.

When A-min informed me that there will be the first fixie meetup organised by him in Taiwan, PEONFX took this opportunity to show some love and support to the pedal powered crew over there. Despite of the initial cancellation due to the typhoon, we are glad that the meet up do take place at a later date. By the look of the pictures, you guys sure have fun. I am sure OZOTW will be organizing more event in the future.

We had a great time at the charity auction that we supported last week.

It was a closed event between friends and friends of friends to gather and to remember the less fortunate children. Products from us,  Thread Bandits and UNKL347 were auctioned off and all proceeds would go to charity.

The food was awesome, as always, thanks to Badoque_Cafe! We have a very supportive crowd that night. It was fun and it was meaningful and we hope to do this again next year. Well… why not, its for the kids.  Thanks everyone that came, supported and also donated to Muhammadiyah. We are sure you loved the auction goods that we have for you. * we saw the dude that got the PEONFX logo t-shirt from the auction, wearing it the next day*

The idea took place the night when Min, Mus, Sue and me were chilling outside Sup on one of the Friday Nights were most of the boys weren’t riding. It took a lot of coordination and also proper planning to kidnap both Sabri and also Acit to make way to East Coast for their Surprise Farewell BBQ. It was a near perfect plan that night but unfortunately we were’nt able to get Sabri down as he was spinning for Vapour Trails that night. All in all, we managed to get everyone down, from Fixpatrix boys, CAS and also the Eat Sh!t crew, together with some close friends. The BBQ was awesome and everyone did their part in eating up everything on the barbie. Thanks to Yasin for the ‘Colnago Affair’, Min and Mus for doing the cooking, the girls for the preparation especially Nina.

We then decided to make our way to Vapour Trails to show our love and support to Sabri. It was good to see that he had been enjoying himself there.

I still remember the first time i tried riding on the roads with JJay. It was a gloomy drizzling Sunday. And being Sunday doesn’t excuse the forever busy road in front of my house from packing up with vehicles.

 I lasted 5mins (mebbe 2mins but hey! who is counting!) on the road and Jjay decided that was enough. “The bus was right behind you and you could’ve got hit!” she exclaimed. Yes, yes, I am not streetsmart like that. And clumsy people like me should not ride fixies until i wise up a bit. So for the rest of the day, we rode on pavements and a wee bit on the road of which she made sure i was allright. (and of course when the roads are empty =P)

It would have been pavement-forever-and-happily-ever-after for me if not for the continuous persistence from Jay. And on the first Bike Polo day, i decided to just do it.

It was a do or die situation for me. Nobody could really understand the fear, no thanks to my cousin. But that’s another story for another day. And so, I made it one piece to the polo court and feeling quite proud of myself. (ok start guffawing here)  To cut it short, I’m really glad i manage to overcome this dumb, if not humiliating fear. To many more riding sessions! Roads, Here I Comes! =)

New addition to PEONFX familia. Nass

As early as 1994, Nass had picked up the skateboard and had been manipulating the decks since then. Those fast feet then moved alongside a fixie. He’s a trickster and loves bombing the street as much as he possibly could. 

In this beautiful month of Ramadan… PEONFX, ThreadBandits, UNKL347 and friends are getting together for  iftar (breaking of fast) over at Badoque.  In our laughs over a hearty meal, let’s remember the less fortunate kids, so we took this opportunity to make it a charitable night. 

We will be auctioning some of our goodies there. Bids will start very low. All proceeds will then be donated to an orphanage. But if you’re ain’t bidding but still wants to contribute, there will also be a donation box

For those who have missed out the last bike polo event, we will be conducting one this coming Friday, the 4th.
We will end the night with FootDown, and a last skid with Sabri since he’s bidding us goodbye and flying off the following day.

What you need.. unused piece of rachet strap webbings or whatever webbings..but try to find those hard/thick one. Cut webbing to desired length.. accordance to your shoe/foot size. Fold both end of webbing into half.. Punch eyelets (eyelet bought from SPOTLIGHT) punch 2 hole with distance accordance from the 2 existing hole on the pedal. Then fasten it with screw bolt and nut size 5mm.
